Founded in 1967, EOLIS was established by Wendeen H. Eolis, as the first executive search firm exclusively for lawyers. She stands as the inventor of the legal recruiting industry and CEO of EOLIS International Group.

EOLIS is a legal search/consultancy with 50+ years of experience in optimizing legal talent. In 2020, Russell Reid, previously managing partner of NY/London offices of Sheppard, Mullin, joined EOLIS as Presiding Member, of the Senior Leadership Team.   

EOLIS vets/delivers top legal talent to law firms/businesses/corporate boards/government; advises/coaches lawyers on career management for CLO/C-Suite/BOD roles in Fortune 1000 companies. A boutique practice with global connections, through its worldwide network of affiliated consultants, EOLIS also provides expert reports/testimony regarding legal marketplace-in state /federal courts. 

Recognized as a pioneer/innovator/legal search industry leader, and its most experienced consultancy/commentator/expert witness, EOLIS has been featured in a wide range of internationally recognized general circulation and legal media, throughout its history; including profiles in the New York Times,  and awards/ commendations by Corporate Insider for Legal Search Platform of the Year (2019) and  Corporate LiveWire (2018) among others. 

Ms. Eolis is also civilian Commander of HCTF, a post 9/11 initiative assisting governments; vetting lawyers for counsel roles in aftermath of terrorist incidents, and for top-level appointments. Earlier, she served as a key advisor to Mayor Giuliani and then as first assistant/senior adviser to NY Governor Pataki.

In 2021 she was tapped as a political commentator for two upcoming feature film documentaries. She is a public speaker and in off-hours an internationally known tournament poker player.

Industry Leadership/Awards: Ms. Eolis founded the National Association of Legal Search Consultants, was its first president, and was the recipient of its Distinguished Service Award after leading ratification of its Ethics Code and chairing NALSC’s first Annual Conference.

Previously, she was the first woman and youngest president of APCNY, the youngest NAPC Board member, and, the youngest recipient of Lifetime Industry Service Awards from both personnel Associations. She also received NYS Senate Citation for her contribution to the modernization of placement fee law.
